Gate Guru 

Named one of the Top 5 Air Travel apps by CNN! The free application allows you to receive real-time flight status information (including push notifications), view your TripIt and KAYAK itineraries, view / post airport security wait times, see a structured list of airport food, shops and services – including over 30,000 reviews and tips and 5,000 photos from fellow travelers on airports, terminals, and airport amenities.

Captions merge with creativity when using the iPhone app called “Over.” It’s not free but for only $1.99 it will help turn witty thoughts into captions (we like to think in headlines!), adding words over your photos.

Pic Stitch 

Quickly combine multiple photos into one beautifully framed picture. Pic Stitch packs a simple design with a powerful editor to give you everything you could possibly want to make your photo’s simply amazing. Share your masterpiece on your favorite social media networks including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Or order prints from your local Walgreens for in-store pickup. Use Pic Stitch to create a before-and-after sequence, combine great photos of each of your kids, or produce a photographic series. It’s free too!


No more frantic searching for confirmation emails in your inbox – or worse yet – hunting down that pesky manila folder. A free app that caught our attention is “Word Lens,” which translates printed words from English to French, Spanish or Italian (and vice versa) via iPad’s camera.
